How Inteq is evolving Project Management
Aug 18th, 2026
For our customers, successful project delivery is about more than getting a system live. It is about having confidence that the operation will continue to perform today, while being ready for what comes next.
That is why Inteq has been evolving the way we manage projects.
Our Projects team has a simple mission: It just works. Today and tomorrow.
From day-to-day support and system changes to onsite maintenance, retrofits, major projects and the roadmaps that take an operation forward, we are bringing these activities together under one accountable structure.
The result is a more connected approach to project management, designed to give our customers greater visibility, consistency and confidence throughout the lifecycle of their automation.
One team. One accountable structure.
Warehouse automation does not stand still. Systems need maintaining, software needs updating, technology evolves and operational requirements change.
Historically, these different activities can involve different teams, processes and handovers. Our approach brings support, system changes, onsite maintenance, retrofits and larger projects closer together under the Projects team.
This matters because it gives customers a clearer point of accountability.
Rather than treating each change as an isolated piece of work, we can understand how it fits into the wider operation — and the customer’s longer-term roadmap.
That means we are not simply firefighting today’s issues. We are looking ahead to the changes, improvements and investments that can keep our customers moving forward.
Experienced project management, backed by warehouse expertise
At the heart of the change is an experienced team of project managers with a strong history of delivering warehouse automation projects.
This experience matters. Automation projects involve complex technology, multiple suppliers, operational dependencies and significant business impact. Effective project management needs to understand not just the project plan, but the environment in which the technology operates.
Our project managers bring that understanding to every stage of delivery — helping teams identify risks earlier, coordinate activities effectively and maintain focus on the outcomes that matter to the customer.
A new approach to project governance
We have introduced a structured five-stage project governance process to provide greater consistency across our projects.
The five stages are:
- Due diligence – ensuring we understand the requirements, environment, risks and objectives before moving forward.
- Design – confirming the proposed solution and ensuring the right technical and operational decisions have been made.
- Build & test – managing implementation, testing and readiness in a controlled way.
- Go-live – ensuring the operation, people and technology are ready to transition successfully.
- Close – confirming outstanding actions, capturing lessons learned and ensuring the project is properly handed over.
Each stage provides a clear opportunity to review progress and confirm that the right information, decisions and approvals are in place before moving forward.
This isn’t governance for governance’s sake. It is about creating the discipline needed to reduce surprises and keep delivery on track.
What does that mean for customers?
It means greater predictability.
Customers can have a clearer understanding of:
- Where their project is in the delivery process
- What has been completed and signed off
- What needs to happen next
- Where risks or decisions need attention
- Who is responsible for the next stage
Ultimately, better governance creates greater confidence.
Bringing project information into one place
We are also investing in new toolsets to support the way our teams work.
Building on the Microsoft Power Platform, including the Ideas Accelerator, we have developed a central project hub for project and portfolio management.
The aim is simple: make it easier for our teams to manage projects consistently and make better information available to the people who need it.
Instead of project information sitting across multiple locations, our central approach provides a clearer view of project activity, milestones, actions and progress.
For customers, this supports a more joined-up experience — particularly where multiple projects or workstreams are running at the same time.
Consistent reporting and better visibility
Good project management depends on good communication.
We have introduced more consistent project reporting, linked to regular updates for project members and steering groups.
This gives stakeholders a structured view of progress rather than relying on information being shared informally or only when something needs attention.
Regular reporting helps highlight achievements, upcoming milestones, decisions, risks and issues — giving everyone a shared understanding of where the project stands.
For customers, that means fewer unknowns and greater visibility throughout delivery.
Better collaboration through shared platforms
Modern projects rarely involve just one team. Customers, Inteq teams, technology partners and other stakeholders may all need access to information and documentation.
We are therefore making greater use of central SharePoint environments and customer portals, allowing relevant information to be accessed by both internal and external project teams.
This creates a more collaborative project environment, helping ensure that people are working from the same information and can access what they need when they need it.
It also supports greater transparency – an important part of our commitment to making project delivery easier to understand.
What this means for our customers
Our investment in project management is ultimately about improving the customer experience. It means:
- Greater accountability – One team providing clearer ownership across support, changes, maintenance, retrofits and projects.
- Greater predictability – A structured governance process that makes progress, decisions and next steps clearer.
- Greater transparency – Consistent reporting and accessible project information.
- Better collaboration – Shared platforms that make it easier for customers and project teams to work together.
- Stronger delivery – Experienced project managers supported by consistent processes and tools.
- A longer-term view – Connecting today’s operational requirements with the projects, upgrades and roadmaps that will support future growth.
It just works. Today and tomorrow.
Our goal isn’t simply to deliver projects more efficiently. It is to make the entire journey easier for our customers – from the first conversation and initial due diligence through to implementation, go-live, ongoing support and the next stage of their automation roadmap.
Because when automation is critical to your operation, you need more than a project team that can deliver. You need a partner that understands where you are today, knows where you want to go tomorrow, and has the governance, expertise and visibility to help you get there.
That’s the thinking behind our Projects team mission: It just works. Today and tomorrow.
